The year is 2020, right? Just making sure. Our Quarantined brains need a memory jolt from time to time. . . .
In all seriousness, we are thankful to be here serving our customers after several crazy months of the Pandemic.
One thing the Pandemic taught us to value: human connection. Just getting together with friends for dessert over coffee is never to be taken for granted again. We were truly touched reading all of your gift notes to your loved ones during Shelter in Place. People sent Quarantine Sweets and Dessert Care Packages. Birthdays were celebrated from afar and often with Virtual Parties. Companies gifted their remote employees with cake. And let's not forget our teachers! It was an epic Teacher Appreciation week.
Another thing we learned is that in a Pandemic, there are nationwide shipping delays of which we cannot control. Ugh---just why did the Pandemic choose to come about in warmer months? Our little cakes are not fans of the heat!
But we are entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs must learn to pivot in times of crisis. So we got to work to figure things out and we learned a lot in the process.
