What is the shelf life of your products?

Your cake jars are fresh for 7 days after you receive them.  Your cookies are fresh for as long as they remain soft.  

When we get your order we put it on our baking schedule and bake to order.  We use real ingredients and no preservatives, just like you do at home i.e. butter, eggs, flour, sugar, vanilla).  All products ship within 24 hours of being baked.  Because we do not use preservatives, the freshness depends on how you store the product---just like if you had made cookies or cake at home.  Cake Jars have a shelf life up to 10 days; everything else up to 5 days:  unless sealed and frozen.  Further instructions on preserving freshness will be contained in your package.  

 

What is the shipping time?

When we get your order we put it on our baking schedule Tuesday thru Friday and ship Tuesday thru Saturday.  We need 48 hours after getting your order to ship it.  Our kitchen is closed on Sunday and Monday and the ovens are off!  Therefore, if we get your order on Saturday it will not be baked until Tuesday and will ship either Tuesday or Wednesday.  We always ship within 24 hours of baking your item.  Shipping takes 1 to 3 days depending on your shipping zone (this is true for all carriers) and day of week, as well as where you are shipping to.  

 

What shipping options do you offer?

Right now we are shipping USPS Priority Mail.  We like to ship USPS because it keeps your costs down and USPS will deliver on a Saturday.  Also, the shipping time is nearly the same as the other carriers.  If for some reason you need another option, just call us and we can work on a custom arrangement for you.   We also ship UPS.

 

What if my package or items are damaged during shipping?

We hope you don't have a negative experience with us, nor hold against us what happens during shipping that is not in our control.    If your item arrives damaged, don't panic---just take a photo and send it to us so we can rectify it as well as file a report with the shipper.  We've suffered very few casualties thus far (knock on wood) and have shipped as far as Hawaii without incident.  If your weather is very warm, indicate that to us so we can take measures against melting.  

 

Are your products nut-free?

No, our products are not nut free.  While some of them contain nuts and some don't, we are not a nut-free kitchen.  Because of this, if you have a severe allergy we recommend that you do not consume our products.  

 

Are your products gluten-free?

We are not a certified gluten-free kitchen.  While some of our products are baked without wheat flour, we do bake with gluten products in our kitchen.  If you have a severe allergy to gluten we recommend that you do not consume our products.

 

Do your products contain dairy ingredients?

Yes.  Our products are baked with real dairy ingredients using eggs, milk, cream, and butter.  If you have a severe allergy to dairy we recommend that you do not consume our products.
